BIG RIVER & CHRISTMAS CHEER in CONNECTICUT!                                                                                                                                                    Thursday, November 20

Our winter trip to Goodspeed has been scheduled earlier than usual this year, and we hope you’ll join us when we attend the matinee performance of Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.  Come along for the adventure of a lifetime as we join Huck and runaway slave Jim on a musical trip down the Mississippi River based on Mark Twain’s classic tale. Along the way, you’ll meet a rascally pair of river grifters, a grieving heiress and of course, Tom Sawyer. This is a slice of pure Americana - adventurous, humorous, perilous and mythic. This show, with music and lyrics by Roger Miller, won 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical, when it appeared on Broadway.  We’re also happy to announce the return of our pre-show visit to Guilford! We’ll begin our day with the perfect holiday shopping trip to the Guilford Handcraft Center’s 27th annual sale. Featuring the work of over 350 artists, this indoor show of contemporary American crafts will include ceramics, glass, fiber arts, jewelry, basketry, metalwork and more... just the thing for early holiday shopping! On the basis of considerable praise for the Riverhouse, a lovely banquet facility across the river from the Opera House, we are returning there for luncheon, which will precede the performance. Mark your calendar for this pre-holiday outing and reserve your seat NOW to avoid disappointment later on!

FEE: $105.   Includes theatre ticket for matinee performance with orchestra seating, 3-course lunch with choice of entrée at the Riverhouse, BCS escort, motorcoach transportation and driver tip. A $50 deposit will hold space on the trip until October 5, when the balance is due.
